It's time to gear up for the fall season and with schools back in session and the weather getting colder, unfortunately that also means more cold & flu.

We would like to remind you of some basic ways to prevent colds and to build your immune system starting now:

• Drink plenty of water and keep hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids (coffee doesn't count as fluid!).
• Take daily Vitamin C and Zinc to boost your immune system.  Unfortunately Echinacea has not been proven to do this but if you're a believer, then go for it!
• Good hygiene will help prevent the spread of infections and good handwashing is essential. 
• Get plenty of rest/ sleep. 
• Stress lowers your immune system so do what works for you to lower your stress.  Exercise, yoga and meditation, and effective time management are some of the best methods to lower stress.
• Avoid alcohol and smoking at all costs.  Cigarrette smoking specifically lowers immune system and lengthens healing/recovery time from any infection.
• And LAST but NOT LEAST, get your flu shot!

And on that note, we would like to let you know that we offer the FLU VACCINE for everyone.  There is no anticipated shortage this year and hopefully we will be getting our first shipment in the next 3-4 weeks.  Please call for more information at the end of this month.

Also our doctors are availabe for urgent visits and this fall we will be open later into the evening to accomodate you better.  So, don't suffer with the coughing, sniffling, aching throat through the night.  Come in and be seen; chances are we will have same-day appointments available.  Our physicians are both board certified Internal Medicine specialists and Dr. Mina M. is also specialized in Pediatrics.  They provide competent medical care with great thoroughness and care.
