Laser Hair Removal

How does it work?

Hair removal is one of the most popular laser-based aesthetic procedures since it can provide permanent reduction of unwanted hair.

Laser Hair Removal

How does laser hair removal work?
We use Cynosure's Smartepil II® Nd:YAG laser to safely remove unwanted facial and body hair by selectively targeting the melanin (pigment) inside the hair follicle and generating heat at the root of the hair to destroy the hair follicle without damaging the surrounding skin. Unlike other systems, our laser is effective for all skin types, even the darkest skin types.

Is laser hair removal safe?
Yes. It is extremely safe and the procedures are performed only by licensed and trained, medical professionals.

Is laser hair removal painful?
These laser offers significant advantages over other laser hair removal systems and is virtually painless. However, some sensitive patients do experience some minor discomfort. Anesthesia is not required, although a topical numbing cream can be used if necessary. Most individuals experience no more than a slight stinging sensation as the laser pulses are applied. Some parts of the body do tend to be more sensitive than others.

How many laser hair removal sessions does it take?
The number of treatments required for long-term benefits depends on the area being treated, your hair density, and the hair's growth cycle. There are three phases of hair growth — Anagen (active), Catagen (regression) and Telogen (resting). Laser technology is designed to treat hair in the Anagen phase of growth. Additional factors, including age, ethnicity, weight, hormones, diet, medication and metabolism, influence hair growth and play a role in the location, thickness and resilience of your hair. Although each client is unique, experience tells us that you can expect an average of 4-8 treatments spaced 6 to 12 weeks apart, depending on the area being treated.

How long is the laser hair removal treatment session?
The length of laser hair removal treatments is determined by the density of hair growth and overall size of the area being treated. Small areas may take only 15 minutes, while larger areas, such as the back and leg, can require up to an hour or longer.

How much does it cost?
Compared to a lifetime of waxing, shaving or purchasing depilatory creams, laser hair removal is very affordable. Price is based on the size of the area to be treated.

What body areas can be treated with laser hair removal?
Virtually any body are can be treated including the Abdomen, Back, Beard, Breast (Areola), Buttocks, Cheeks, Chest, Chin, Ears, Eyebrows, Feet, Forehead, Legs, Bikini Line, Genitals, Hairline, Arms, Hands, Head, Lower Back, Lower Leg, Neck, Nostrils, Shoulders, Thighs and Underarms.

Starting a Fitness Program

5 Tips to Help You Stick With It!

Yoga womanAlthough we all know the benefits of regular exercise, most American adults don't get enough physical activity, and over 25% of adults are not active at all. Here are some tips to help you start (and stick to) an exercise program:

1. Set Goals.
Set goals to monitor your progress. Your goals should be challenging, yet achievable.

2. Make Appointments to Exercise.

Schedule exercise appointments in your daily planner, and keep them.

3. Use the “5-Minute Compromise”.
On days when you do lose motivation, try to exercise for just 5 minutes. Chances are, you’ll feel great and want to continue.

4. Involve Friends and Family.
Find a “workout buddy” with whom you can exercise or chat about your progress. Plan fitness activities for the whole family.

5. Reward Yourself.
As you reach your goals, reward yourself. You deserve it!
