PhotoFacial® Skin Rejuvenation
PhotoFacial® Skin Rejuvenation is a unique procedure designed to enhance your complexion and improve the overall appearance of your skin. A PhotoFacial® is actually a series of gentle, pulsed light treatments that can dramatically improve your appearance by eliminating many minor skin imperfections. The entire face can be treated in 20-30 minutes. For optimal results, 3-5 sessions at three week intervals are recommended. It is especially effective in the treatment of “broken” facial blood vessels (spider capillaries), particularly on the nose and cheeks. Treatments can also reduce fine lines by stimulating the skin to produce elastin and collagen which gives skin its tightness and elasticity. Best of all, it is noninvasive and patients are pleased with the lack of “downtime” in their personal activities. Normal activities can be resumed immediately after treatment.
PhotoFacial® is particularly effective in the treatment of rosacea. Many Americans suffer from rosacea, a condition that makes your face flushed and red. Although there is no cure at this time, PhotoFacial® can significantly diminish these symptoms. People who have applied topical steroids or other prescription medications with little benefit have had dramatic improvement in these symptoms after a series of PhotoFacials®. In addition, PhotoFacials® can be used to treat neck and chest redness, as well as uneven pigmentation from sun damage/
PhotoFacial® may also be used in conjunction with microdermabrasion to enhance the benefits of the procedure by reducing the dilated capillaries and redness that microdermabrasion is unable to help. PhotoFacial® is also complimentary to Botox injections. PhotoFacial® offers a freshened new “look” after these other treatments to help reduce the effects of photo aging.
Best of all, PhotoFacial® is safe and effective and there are few contraindications. Treatments should not be used on anyone who has taken Accutane within the past six months.
